With us having to vacate the Air BnB by 10AM, we were packed, stacked and out the door in short order. We ended up adjacent to the Airlie Beach Lagoon and spotted some open seats at the Airlie Beach Treehouse, where we were please to say the service and food were brilliant.
As today was officially Rab’s birthday, I organised a muffin with a candle to help get him in the swing of things and we ended up having the staff and most of the customers sing Happy Birthday for him, which was a good giggle.
From there we bid our Au revoir's to Mary and decided to head over to Shute Harbour just to check the joint out as it boasts to being the "Gateway to the Whitsundays". It's only a 10 kilometre (6 mile) drive from downtown Airlie Beach and as for being an attraction, there's a reason why people use it as a transit stop - there not a lot of anything unless you're want to head over to the adjacent tourist trap islands of Hamilton, South Molle and Hayman to name a few.
It was a pretty leisurely trip home, with both Rab & Fluxy competing with each other on checking their eyelids for holes. All in all it was a bloody great weekend that was way too short and went way too fast - but brilliant none the less.
