DAY 23

Week 4

INVERCARGILL (Southland, NZL)

Sunday May 6th, 2018

TODAYS MILEAGE – 132 miles or 212 kilometres
TRIP MILEAGE – 4,934 miles or 7,941 kilometres

With it being the day of the sabbath, what better way to start the day than heading over to the historic Southland Masonic Centre in worship of the Southern Farmers Market offerings.

From there, we drove 70 k's (40 miles) to hoof it 20 minutes downhill, through sheep filled paddocks, in a wind that would blow a dog off a chain, to the southernmost point of the South Island of New Zealand - Slope Point.

In headed back to town, we detoured into the seaport of Bluff - the oldest continuously occupied European settlement in New Zealand and parked up at the Anchorage Cafe for a ½ decent late lunch.
