The "Mandarin's House" was built in 1869 and was the residence of the Qing theoretician and reformist, "Zheng Guanying" (1842-1922).
Built largely in the Cantonese style, it is noted for its fusion of western architectural elements, the site occupies approximately 4000 m² (1 acre), contains more than 60 rooms in total and at one time housed more than 300 tenants.
