The Hermitage of the Virgin of Peña is the third chapel in the local vicinity that was built in the Middle Ages to help sway the prevailing pagan beliefs.
The building dates from the 13th century and had stood untouched until the Civil War where an image of the Virgen de la Peña was destroyed - it was fully restored in 1995.
