We stopped at the Bab el-Khemis gate for a short while to take in the main fortified access between the Medina and the Imperial City of Meknès.
The structure was named after the architect El-Mansour and was completed in in 1732, 5 years after the death of the king of Morocco Moulay Ismail, who commissioned the gate.
