Colonia del Sacramento is located on the east bank of the Río de la Plata, 180 kilometres (290 miles) west of Montevideo, but only 50 kilometres (80 miles) by ferry from Buenos Aires.
Colonia is a great little town that is also a Unesco World Heritage site and well worth the visit
