BARAGUÁ ~ Roadside Stop (Ciego de Ávila, CUB)

Monday April 15th, 2019

TODAYS MILEAGE – 243 miles / 391 kilometres
TRIP MILEAGE – 16,632 miles / 26,376 kilometres

About an hour and a half east of Sancti Spíritus, we pulled of at a local roadside tourist stop where a few of the crew decided to try a Piña colada. This where I learnt the meaning of the drink - piña "pineapple" and colada "strained".

Whilst standing there with our "Fab Four" pommy quartet, a lady legs it past us and goes arse over teak kettle and face plants so hard that she draws claret and the Russian judges score her badly due to not sticking the landing. We head over to help her and she started gesticulating to one of her friends and inferring in French accented English that big Lenny pushed her off the path, which he did no such thing.

Not sure what the women’s game was, but I wasn't happy that she was trying to hang shit on the big fella - he was actually standing in front of me with his arms crossed when she ran past.

Other members of her group had gathered around her and were giving Lenny dirty looks and shaking their heads, so I walk through them and explained to her tour guide that we were simply standing on the path listening to the 3 piece band, when she stepped off the path and took a tumble. He converses with the woman in French and then says to me that it’s all OK. Upon hearing this, the rest of her group simply wandered off.
